What is a Hidden Cat Plant Litter Box
The Plant Litter Box, also known as a litter box planter, is a unique litter box that is disguised as a house plant in a giant vase.
The plant is of course fake and the ‘vase’ is made of plastic, but its purpose is to hide your cats litter which goes inside the vase.
You can turn the opening of the litter towards a wall so from your perspective (and your guests), it just looks like a modern and stylish house plant.
Hidden Cat Plant Litter Box Review
If you don’t like the look of a normal litter box then the Hidden Cat Litter Planter could be a great option.
It’s size is 19″ in diameter and 20″ high without the plant and 42″ with the plant.
The base is brown and looks like it’s made of clay but is made of plastic. The plant is in the style of a parlor palm.
It comes in three sections when you buy it. Two for the base and then the plant itself. It is relatively easy to put together and should only take 5-10 minnutes.
It’s design for larger cats due to the size of the base, I kittens might be fine with it as along as they’re already litter trained.
Some people have actually put a real plant on top instead of using the fake one, you just have to make sure you place something underneath to collect excess water.
For the litter inside the base, some people use a round litter box or something like a Little Giant Plastic Utility Pan.
However, you don’t have to use a little box as you can put litter directly in the bottom of the vase base.

- Looks very inconspicuous
- Very easy to keep clean thanks to the wide opening
- It’s affordable
- It doesn’t take up much space – great solution for a small space or apartment
- More decorative and functional than a normal litter box
- Many cats seem to like this cat because it is very roomy
- Goes a long way to reducing odors

- Some people thought the plant looks too fake

Which Litter Pan Fits This Planter?
You don’t actually need one but some home owners prefer to use one.
If you would prefer to then the best one to buy is the “little giant dura-flex plastic utility pan 3-gallon.” It fits into this one really nicely and is available in a variety of colors such as red, green and blue. The Petmate Booda Dome Pearl Litter Box also fits in there nicely.
Is the Lid Difficult to Close?
Some people found it difficult to get the lid on and off. Other buyers said that if you follow this process, you will have no problems.
Just start at one end while supporting it, and work your way around until it’s completely snapped on. It does take a little patience but it does go on fairly easily. It isn’t a simple click and go, but it is fine after a few attempts.
Does the Litter Stick to the Sides?
A few customers say that the litter sticks to the sides.
If you don’t use a liner then that could happen and that will depend on a few things. It depends on the type of litter, and also on how often that you clean it.
Is this Litter Box Hard to Clean?
Poop should be removed 1-2 times per day. If you are using a clumping litter, that should also be removed daily. That helps keep the litter dry and if you can do that, then the litter will remain dry.
The important thing with this litter box, as with any litter box is to clean it regularly, and not allow the litter to get too wet.
